The Innevitable Feat

The Pittsburgh Penguins. A teaam of young upcoming stars with great heart and atitude. But for a team most think has what it takes, they are flawed. The do not have "what it takes" so to speak to win the illustrious Stanley Cup. The Penguins lack experience for the cup. They have 2 players who have been all the way before and they only accumulate to 3 Stanley Cup rings. On the other hand, Detroit has the mix of young guns, veterans and miles of heart. They have 23 players who have been around block, (somewhere around Stanley Cup Ave. and Champions St.), and they have an accumulated total of 28 Stanley Cup rings. After everything viewed in retrospect, the odds weigh too heavily in favour of the Red Wings. Pittsburgh may have an immpeccable home record in the 2008 playoffs of 9-0 but when it comes down to it, they can not beat Detroit at home and the Red Wings have home ice advantage which places glory in the palms of their hands. Let's face it Pittsburgh took 155:08 to score their first goal, almost 10 whole periods. In game 3, two of Pittsburghs goals were scored off the back of Osgood's leg and Marc-Andre Fleury let in two weak shots and watched his posts save 2 shots from Henrik Zetterberg. Fleury and his Penguins may have come out with the win but on what, the thinnest thread possible? Fleury's past is cathching up with him and he is out of room to run. His little inncident in the Junior Nationals Gold Medal Game lingers in his mind and restrains the goalie from being great. The Penguins have a good team but not enough of everything to get it done. The Big 5 of Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Rafalski and Lidstrom take a lot of credit but the Big 5 extends throughout the line-up with players like Johan Franzen who had 9 goals in 4 games with a total of 13 or Nicklas Kronwall who has immpenatrable defense and Chris Osgood with a 1.38 GAA and .932 save %. All boils down to one thing, RED and WHITE.
